PaviElle's sound often has the faint flavor of Sly and the Family Stone, or seems to draw on the influences of little Jose James, and Rufus—with the soulful feel of Bill Withers occasionally evident in the groove.
This album is indicative of the high level of musicianship and creativity of this band. It starts with the catchy party down, jam, Break Me Free, and continues through some of the bands deepest, soul searching cuts. These guys put on an amazing show for sure and these songs are phenomenal live, but just as well this recording is exceptionally well executed. Jesse Cyr
Moodymann creates innovative soul funky music with deep 70s inspiration. The vocals are simply outstanding. A step back in time, 50 years ago! Superb. jef37
